Default 2008 Town & Country Driver Side Door Module

I have a 2008 Town & Country with 104,000 miles. About two months ago the rear view camera and radio stopped working. And when I would open driver side door the windshield wipers would start working. When driving all of the gadgets would start going haywire and once all of them stopped working including the speedometer. I pulled over stopped and re-started the car and all was fine but when you opened the driver door the windshield wipers would go on again. The radio is working now yet now you can't use the driver side door. Any ideas to fix this - of course, it all happened after the 100,000 mile warranty was up.

Default wind module

The problem sounds to be a wind module which controls everything in the dad controlled by the ignition switch. I replaced mine in February and am not needing to replace it again. I have an 08 town and country.

Battery / battery connection issue causing the body control module [BCM] to malfunction. Pull the NEG terminal for 20 minutes and then reconnect after emery cloth and vaseline is applied to the terminals. If the problem persists get the battery checked out its properly, its probably old and tired and needs replacing.

This issue of things going haywire, particularly the speedo always points to the Battery & BCM and if the Reboot works temporarily a new Battery is required. What battery, big is beautiful.

As mentioned above, the first thing would be to check the battery. If the battery is the original battery it may need to be replaced as they are only good for about 5 years or so. If the battery or connections are bad, many strange electrical issues may show up.

Second, as Amanda mentions, the WIN module (not wind :-) is also something to look into after verifying the battery is OK. The WIN (Wireless Ignition Node) controls/contains the following functions:
  • Ignition Switch
  • Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS)
  • Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM)
  • Brake Transmission Shifter Interlock (BTSI)
  • Remote Start
