Default Electronic Stability Program error light

Hello,
I have a 2008 Chrysler Town & country van which we love by the way. Yesterday, out of the blue, the dash board indicator light for the ESP came on and has been on ever since. Im hoping someone here might be able to tell me what I can do to keep from taking the van to the dealer. Is there a way to reset the light? What is this light telling me? Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

I'm thinking they are Chassis codes. Most parts stores won't be able to read them. No harm in trying though.

It can be activated by any number of combinations, are you sure its the ESP and not the ABS ? Unfortunately for you like Raptor & CHRYSLER TECH your starting point is a proper code read somewhere. Many indi's have decent code readers as does you local Bosch - Lucas place - most will do a read for £30 quid - well worth the money for the service - they have the kit - you don't.

Best of luck

Does the esp light come on when turning the steering wheel left or right?

Check at the rear harness near the axle for a right and left side speed sensor at the take out. Check to see if the wiring harness connectors for these sensors are crossed. One side has a round retaining clip and the other has a square retaining clip. If the connectors are crossed, then you need to switch them to the proper side. This should correct your issue.
