I'm like a broken record on this one I'm afraid, but I'd start with the fuel filter.

I've had 2 voyagers with the same issue, both times it was the fuel filter allowing air in as they were just not tight enough (both happened after fuel filter changes)

There's someone else on this thread solved the same issue by changing and making sure the fuel filter was tight enough.

Do you know when the fuel filter was last changed?

Thanks, I'll try my local garage to see if they can look at the fuel filter or replace it if it's not been done in a while.

Default Solved it...

Changed the fuel filter (which was not fully tight) and that cured the problem 95%.
I then had the fuel filter housing changed and now it's cured 100%

Simple solution I wish I'd had it done when I first became aware of the problem.

Default 2.8 Voyager Cutting out.

I might as well post my problem on here, I wish this post had been available in 2013 before I spent £2500 finding out it was the fuel filter housing.

Well car has started cutting out again...

4 years later and car has been great after replacing all injectors, starter motor, fuel rail pressure valve, yardi yarda to eventually prime the filter housing and seeing it blow bubbles, thinsg at the time was, the filter housing was the first thing I looked at but it must have just cracked and I couldnt find it so illiminated it....so bought the new "modified housing with loom and had it replaced.....been great ever since...Anyway i digress.

Cam belt went last month and had it in garage, replaced belt pump and all new rockers....not cheap!! car was good fro a month. then one after noon cuts out on me, exact same kinda cutting out as 4 years ago, but surly it cant be the modified fuel filter housing??????

So changed fuel filter........didnt work

I can drive it all day as long as I dont floor it for speed, if I do it cuts out at 2k revs.....If I try to start on key, it just turns over for ages, if I get out and prime it........starts after 3/4 seconds

I'm thinking air in the system, same as before

Poped engine cover off and notices a couple of bolts loose in cam cover.....very mad at arage now as these are supposed to be torqued on

Takes it to garge this morning they agree to find what up with it at no cost to me.......

Just got a call, they cant read faults on a chrysler with their kit and I need to take it to somone who can......I did all this 4 years ago and I know its gonna come back inconclusive but hes saying cant do anything until they get fault codes

I'm proppa at my whits end.....need Richard,, if you reading this mate I will drive it down form Lincoln to you if you can solve it for me

Please help

Deano

Checked engine and noticed some loose bolds on cam cover so takes it

Apparently Richard has retired (or something) so you are not likely to get a response from him.
I gave up trying to contact him.
My local independent garage has an ex Chrysler mechanic who now is doing a wonderful job for me.

A long shot, but when you took the old filter off, was the old rubber washer still on the old fuel filter? or did you physically remove it?

I've read before about accidentally having 2 washers in there causing this issue as well.

Yeah I was aware of that when I changed it mate, so made sure old one was off.

Been to another garage this morning and they couldnt read the codes either, weirdly though they could read the gearbox ?????

So its in to Chrysler tomorrow to se if they can fathom it.

One half of my brain is screaming its the fuel filter housing as its the exact same symptom it had 3 years ago but the other half is screaming "no mate you changed it for the re-manufactured model"

Im sat here tempted to try bypassing it with a little inline "clear cased"filter I got in the garage but i dont want to srew it before chrysler look at it.

Jus done the key dane too got the following codes
P1130
P1131
P0340
gonna go look those up, maybe disconect battery and reset then take it for a spin untill it dies again and see what the codes are then..

I love this car but it tries my chuffin patience!!!

The car is only 5 years old with low mileage.
I took it to a dealer who carried out a Health Check and it got code P1130. Fuel Rail Pressure Leakage, Fuel Rail Pressure Too High-Shut off, Fuel Rail Pressure Too Low and Fuel Rail Pressure Solenoid Open.
They recommend that Fuel injectors, rail, filter and housing be replaced which will cost almost £5,400.
They did suggest that I could start off with replacing the Fuel housing first at a cost of £400 to see if that fixes it but they could not guarantee this would work.
I can't believe that a car that is only 5 years old with low mileage needs such a drastic overhaul of the fuel system to get it working.
If anyone has encountered this before or has any suggestions to make please reply. Regards Patrick
I cut my loses and got rid of the car. Will never buy a Chrysler again.
