2010 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.8 Dash lights, gauges zeroed and wipers
Hey y’all,
I recently bought a 2010 3.8 DGC SXT without the RES. This van had sat for many years and I replaced a lot of mechanical components and cleaned up the interior which had evidence of mice. After getting it roadworthy I took it for a very smooth and uneventful drive. When I returned, the power door opened but failed to close on its own. Then when I went to start it, after about 5 seconds all the gauges would zero, all the dash lights would turn on and the wipers wouldn’t stop.
This happened with the same 5 second delay each time I started the car, I’ve been troubleshooting it for a few days now. Today I went to start it again and surprisingly, the issue went away, I started and restarted it a few times and still, no issue. I drove it down the road, parked it for a while then restarted and of course, it came back. I used my scanner and got the codes below… the same two codes from 3 different modules plus the B193C code which indicates “Left Power Sliding Door Switch Circuit High”.
I unplugged and visually inspected the wiring and I didn’t see any problems. I also unplugged the door wiring at the B pillar thus bypassing the module and all the sliding door wiring and still, same code and the issue remains.
With this information I have surmised that it’s an electrical issue, likely a damaged wire between that B pillar and the TIPM. Where would you guys look? Do you think I’m on the right track? Any idea why the issue went away this morning and returned on startup, and not mid drive?
