2012 Lancia Voyager (Chysler T&C) only behaves as in neutral
In Germany, no one was able to help me:
When I was cruising with about 60 mph, suddenly the transmission opened the clutch, then tried to put the gear in, then it kept like in neutral. Of course, the car had to be towed away.
Neither in Drive, nor in "R" the car shows any reaction. The garage said: the transmition shaft might be broken, the transmition has to be repaired (4000$). No error codes were provided, no lamp in the cockpit is indicating an error.
But what came to my attention some days before this happened are two things:
1) I had to pump the brake pedal and press it hard to release the gear selector lever on the first ride of the day
2) The cockpit computer did a reset while driving for two times.
The transmition had been completely revised one year ago. Before that, it has been repaired for two times.
So this is the fourth time the transmition seems to be damaged within three years.
Now I am afraid, that even if I spend the money, it will get damaged in a year again.
What could be the reason for this behavior? The car has about 90,000 miles.
Best,
deoC
