Default 2013 town and country auto trans question

Couple of weeks ago my transmission started going haywire. Downshifting by itself at stoplights and then throwing every code except middle east launch codes. Not driveable. Towed to a local well established trans shop where I was told after diagnostic I needed a full trans rebuild. $4100. So when I picked it up, the owner told me how my axles were extremely difficult to rmove, a broken trans mount bolt etc and that when he test drove it after repair, he felt a slight shudder at initial acceleration from dead stop but that it was due to less than perfect axles and some other stuff I didn't grasp about teflon plates or?? Anyway I've been driving it for a few days, and it drives ok on freeway and it seems to shift smoothly thru all gears, but there is a random shudder at take off for a moment that goes away and does not happen every time. It is also evident in reverse, especially if a slight reverse uphill. If I go back to this guy, I'm expecting a finger pointing contest. Question to group is...does his explanation of worn axles make any sense as to the cause of the shudder, or is it a symptom of poor rebuild? Torque converter is supposedly new.
