Default 2013 Town & Country Transmission Issue

Hey all, Having an issue and hope some experienced people can lend some advice before going the dealer/repair shop route.

2013 TC, first thing in the morning, I start it, put it in reverse to back up in the drive way, it hesitates before going into gear. Once I back up, and come to a complete stop, and shift to drive, sometimes it completely chokes down like a manual, or hesitates like its trying to find 1st gear, revs then jerks into gear. If I drive to the end of my drive way, (about 100yrds), come to a complete stop, it often chokes down/stalls. After restart, it acts mostly normal. I have the occasional getting stuck in 2nd gear if I hard brake while driving and when you come to stop lights or stop signs its like it forgets how to gear down and you can feel the transmission working to get into first while your foot is on the brake, completely stopped. Upon acceleration, it hesitates but once it finds 1st gear, everything works like it should. This don't happen at every stop and go, but its often throughout the drive cycle. Trying to shed some light on it, maybe a sensor, or something that someone has come across before I go the dealer/repair shop route. I'm mechanically inclined but I wont break apart a transmission to mess with that animal. Any insight helps. Thanks for your time
