Default 2014 T&C - Missing Sirius Traffic feature on Navigation unit

I bought a 2014 Town & Country van at the end of October 2013. I noticed within a couple of days that the navigation unit did not show any of the Sirius Traffic information that was supposed to be included for highways around most cities. According to UConnect's web site, this feature was supposed to be included for the first year along with all the other weather, sports and other "infotainment" features that are included in something called "Travel Link". The Traffic feature was separate, and was included on my 2008 T&C van as a subscription from Sirius.

The problem is that in numerous phones calls and emails to the dealer, Chrysler's support line and UConnect, I am getting no where in finding any help to activate the feature.

The navigation radio unit is a 430N RHB and is the higher level "head unit" available on the vehicle. UConnect's web site included marketing material that showed Traffic was included on this radio, and not the other available radio (I have a screen capture of the page in case Chrysler changes it).

When I first spoke to UConnect last November, a technician said that Chrysler was working on the problem and would fix the module through a firmware update that would allow the unit to receive the signal from Sirius. But after calling back a few months later (in early January 2014) UConnect now claims the unit was never supposed to have the feature. I've pointed out the marketing information and that in any case it would be inconceivable that Chrysler would produce a higher end vehicle without this feature. If this is true, there must be hundreds of thousands of T&C vans being produced without the Sirius Traffic feature, something which has become almost standard in most navigation units.

Questions: Has anyone else noticed this problem? Does anyone know anything about the modules that control this unit, and can they be fixed? Are there any alternative navigation radios ("head units") that could replace the one that is included in the 2014 vans? Are there any other contacts at Chrysler aside from the nice but unhelpful customer support people? My Dealer service manager (who agreed the unit was supposed to include traffic) said that sometimes Chrysler responds better when high level executives are involved.

Thanks for any help.

Hi
I know that your post was several years ago but I am experiencing a similar problem - travel link with inaccurate data. My dealer changed the infotainment system 3 times
at the advice of their tech team and I get gas data from 16 miles away and no new data.

If I may ask, did your unit get fixed and what did they do?
