The sliding door chain is NOT an indication of whether you have power doors or not. You should have the chain on BOTH sides as the harness in the chain feeds the power door locks (and possibly other things like the door ajar switch).

I have a 2001 Sport that does not have power doors but it has the chain on BOTH doors, I also have a 2003 eL that has a manual door on the left side and a power door on the right side, it also has the chain on BOTH door.

If you don't have the rack and gear, you don't have power doors.
