94 Town & Country Error Code
We just got this van given to us from our church as we didn't have a vehicle to get our grandsons to school (we are raising)...
We drove it for a few days and got a check engine light. Did the switch on/off thing and got a 21 and 32. Then someone said to disconnect battery, and all codes where gone. But 2 days later, we get check engine again. Got a ODB1 reader and says DTC:32 Req change in fuel/air ratio not detected during diag test.
This is a 94 Town & Country 3.8L 6 cyl engine
Can someone please tell us next steps? We are VERY limited with funds. All input is VERY VERY APPRECIATED!

DTC 32 is Chryslers designation for EGR system malfunction. It is adviseable , if you dont feel comfortable doing things yourself, to have it professionally evaluated. There are vacuum and electrical circuits involved, which are well within the scope of a home repair, but may prove oveerwhelming to a first timer.

He's not a first-timer.But he doesn't have vacuum testers. That's one thing I've read that is required. It looks like the egr valve was recently replaced. He found the oxygen sensor, but is having a hard time getting to it. But we aren't sure what to TEST to see if that is the culprit. I do know what you are saying about being easier to take it to a shop - it's overwhelming about 'where to start?"
Is there anything we can do to isolate the problem a bit? He does have an oHm meter..? He removed the vacuum tubes (one at a time) going to the egr valve and the engine idle didn't change.
