Default 96 T&C airbag light?

Hello, well the 96 airbag light came on and horn don't work. So from what i've found on here says it's the clockspring inside steering wheel. My question is do you think I could still get it fixed with the recall they had? I'm in the US by the way, Wisconsin.

What you say is perfectly true. However for no money and no special tools, you can check if one of he seat-belt straps/buckles on the floor is shorter than the rest.

Yup. Lifetime warranty on all 1996-2000 model year Grand Caravan and Town & Country minivans. Free replacement regardless under 70K miles. Free after 70K miles as long as the airbag light is on and the clockspring is determined to be the problem. Considering your symptoms that's a pretty good bet.

So yesterday I called a dealership gave them the last eight digits of the vin number come to find out the clock spring was supposedly replaced in 2012!!! I've had this van since 2004! I never took it in for that. The only time it's been in a dealership is when I had new tires put on and I'm thinking 2012 is about the time I did that. So I call that dealership about that and of course they don't have any records of it. So they suggested I call chrystler and talk to them. So I'll keep ya updated. What a bunch of BS!!!

Regardless. It can be changed multiple times under the recall warranty.

Thanks Raptor, you are correct. Chrystler says take it to a dealer ship and if they confirm it's the clock spring they will replace it.
