The ring gets rusty and the ABS sensor can't read the signal so the dash light comes on. It's a common problem with lots of cars, not just the Van's...

- this is a CV joint
- it has an ABS RING as part of the joint
- the sensor 'reads' grooves in the ring

TimmyTim refers to the fact that these rings get rusted and the ABS sensor can no longer accurately read them.

For 2 years, going to the local garage and using their car wash lance to wash around the general area behind the wheels cleared it.
Eventually I needed to get a couple of sensors.

Cant remember if the front rings are visible (the rear ones are enclosed) but if you can see them, clean them up with a wire brush and a small screwdriver and see how you go.

Hi Dave, I'll send you a wee message.

Scratch that, cant seem to. Needed timing belt, tensioner, 8 x cam follower assemblies with hydraulics, 4 x orings, 4 x copper washers, cam carrier gasket and water pump.

At that time, about £475 and £185 for the water pump.

I've still got the injector tool and also the timing tool (you would need that too for a snapped belt). Wouldnt sell, but I have hired them out in the past.

If you can change your settings to accept messages, I'll get in touch.

Rab
