Default AC Problem compressor or clutch 2000 voyager

Hi,

I have a 2000 Grand Voyager 3.3L with rear a/c. The compressor has frozen or the clutch has worn out. (squeels and can smell the burnt clutch material). How do I test to see which if the compressor is still good. Also if it is the clutch, can it be replaced without discharging the system and is there any instructions anywhere?

Thank You in advance.

Jim

I have an 06 Pacifica with a clutch problem. In my repair manual, it say's that the clutch can be replaced without having to remove the compressor from the vehicle. Yours may be the same. Ask a parts guy at a dealership.
