Smile airbag light

hi all
i have a 2005 voyager 2.5 crd, the airbag light stays on all the time but the horn still works, could it still be a faulty clock spring, this as only come on since we have fitted a baby seat to one of the seats.
the other problem i have is a faulty side light i have changed the bulb holder but it is still not working.

can anybody help.

I think fitting the baby seat is probably just concidence.

If the horn and all the buttons on the steering wheel still work, then it's very unlikely to be the clockspring.

The same thing happened to my 2004 Voyager about 6 months ago. I found out that there was a recall for a front airbag sensor. (due to it's position, its prone to water ingress and damage from salt on roads). A modified sensor was fitted by my local dealer free of charge and the light went off.

Phone your local Chrysler dealer with your chassis number handy. They can tell you if the recall applies to your car and if it has been done or not.

As for the side light...Have you been able to establish with a meter or test lamp if there is voltage at the bulb holder? Assuming the bulb is ok then it's most likely bad contacts or broken wiring.

Last year my airbag light on my '02 started coming on intermitently. I took it to a shop, they came up with 'squib passenger side' or something like that. They told me either the passenger airbag or the airbag module needed to be replaced, either of which would cost over $2000. I decided to forget about it, and after a month or so did some searches. I took the glovebox off, found the connector going up to the airbag, disconnected it then connected it back together and guess what? the airbag light hasn't come on since, been 6 months or so. Nice diagnosis huh? gotta love service facilities.
