Alternator Discharging Battery

Well, the car is running and charging 14.15V at idle. I still don't
know what the problem was but I took all of your advice and took the
alternator to have it tested. Both Advance Auto and Auto zone said
the alternator checked out bad.

It is obvious that I did not do my home work before I started this
thread and I will stop here except to say that after the problems
encountered replacing the alternator, I sure don't envy the mechanics
who go through these tasks day in and day out.
