I have a 1994 Plymouth Voyager 3.3 liter v6 minivan where the hood latch release cable has broken

unlike many of the others on this site ,I do have the hood open right now and I do have the official Chrysler replacement cable.

my question to the technicians on this site: how much engine compartment disassembly is required ?

I can wiggle the cable a little bit, where it meets the latch, but then I cannot Trace its travel beyond the first few inches .

It seems to be buried very deeply under fuse box and the washer bottle and things of that nature.

has anyone done this repair before can you give me an idea how many hours it takes and special tools and techniques needed?
