When we were kids and our parents took us to Norfolk for the summer hoilday, Lakenheath and Mildenhall were about the half way point. If we'd been good in the car our treat was to be allowed to have lunch at one of the viewing points and if we were lucky get see to a few planes taking off. Best memory was seeing a SR-71 take off and climb almost vertically
