oh no im definitely uk, my cars a 2.5 limited edition voyager diesel, the thing i hit it with is a spanner which you place on a nut and tighten with a dial? i believed you called it a monkey wrench im obviously wrong lol, and yes my battery was a lovely 234 from our local battery sellers and euro parts were more expensive, i know i could of got it online but my car is my lifeline as one i have a business and 2 i have a severely disabled lad in a chair and he doesnt fit into small cars so needed it on the road like yesterday x

Personally, I have gone through too many Optima Batteries to have any confidence in spiral wound GM batteries. BUT I would highly recommend the Odyssey Extreme. It is also a GM battery but not spiral wound it has a model that fits the Grand Voyager CRD and is reliable. However, a GM battery charger and regular maintenance is also a good idea

Take care of the new battery. If you get dial sweep (The rev counter and speedo needles spin round when you first turn ignition on) it's the first signs that the battery voltage is getting low. If that happens in the next 12 months then I'd say you might have a battery charging problem which will end up resulting in another dead battery.

Reason for saying this, is the fault code with the P0514 Battery Temperature Sensor Rationality. If this is misbehaving it will cause poor charge voltage to the battery and in worst case will barely charge the battery if a lot of electrical draw is taking place (Lights on, gadgets plugged in to charge, radio on, DVD player, etc).

Something to watch for as you've got a nice new battery, need to look after it!

Agreed, I made a post sometime ago on Optima's reduction from 100% pure to including recycled lead. However the O/P [UK] would drop the Spiral right in, run immediately without any tray mods and get the usual 3 years for the money. The Odyssey would be twice or more [CCA needs for CRD's] the price, a much better battery ["positive grid corrosion" usually kills a battery before all the lead is used up] but the same life guarantee. Similarly a GM Charger would cost 6 times the equivalent LidL 5 stage charger, would not do as good a job, its unlikely its even sold in the UK.

I recently had all ignition lights on ..............turned key .....no fire up.
I was convinced it was not a battery issue , as when battery is flat all needles go slowly over and the return to normal.
It turned out to be the most simple thing.................
There is a spade end connector to the starter motor ( situated at the front middle below the radiator ) the plug is yellow in colour ..... it had corroded beyond belief .....cleaned the tag and spade connector and the car fired straight away.
I would only consider the Optima battery as it has performed well on both of my vehicles.
