Default Bcm

Hi all,

I've read through previous threads but cant find a solution so my problem is battery drain which I've narrowed down to fuse 24, HZD LP. My friend checked which pulled fuse would stop the drain. With fuse 24 in it reads .96 With fuse out it reads .25

Other symptoms are radio sometimes works sometimes doesn't. The radio screen sometimes doesn't light up. I've read a possible solution is to re program the BCM?

Am I on the right track or is there something else faulty?

Any advice or guidance would greatly be appreciated. A trip to the dealer isn't on due to lack of cash

Thanks
Red

The maximum you should see is 50 milliamps or .050 on a meter. That's far less than the 1/4 amp, .25 you are seeing on the meter. You still have a problem with the fuse out.

Are you disconnecting the negative battery cable, connecting the meter then letting the van sit with doors closed and everything off for a minimum of 15 minutes before reading the meter? You have to let the modules "sleep" before reading the meter.

Yes, took off the neg cable. Black probe to the neg cable, red to the neg battery post. Not sure if we waited 15 mins. I'll get my friend to do it again.

OK here's my new readings after waiting 15 mins. Neg battery lead off, meter to neg lead and neg battery terminal. Fluctuates 1.6 to 1.7 Pulled HZD LP fuse out = .95, replace. Pull IOD fuse out = .067, replace.

I went on and checked every fuse, relay as well as the green connectors and there was no change before and after pulling them.

I had the battery checked at Autozone who confirmed it good. With the meter at home it shows 12.20v and 13.89 engine running.

Don't understand your message. I pulled every fuse on the IPM board including every relay. Are there fuses somewhere else?

Just to make damned sure let it sit 30 minutes then take a final reading. I say that because if you start chasing this drain either from the HZD fuse or the IOD fuse circuits you've got some expensive choices ahead of you. You're looking at the BCM, FCM, IPM and wiring. Want the wiring diagrams? Send me a private message and include an email address.

Left overnight when I touch the neg lead and the neg bat post the cd auto changer starts and I get readings 1.6 to 1.7. Once the cd changer stops cycling it goes to .95

Pulling the iod sent it to .120

Thing seems to have a mind of it's own. sometimes when turn on the ign the ac starts up.
