Default Black box (edr) location

Need the location of the EDR (Event Data Recorder) or any other box that will provide historic data for whatever time frame they are programmed for prior to a major crash that our 2012 T&C that was involved in. The local dealer is clueless.

Anyone?

First of all the information can not be used in a crash to find out if some one is at fault. Its only used for purposes of crash data to improve the structures of the car and air bags. SO even if a customer wants that info its not available to them for any court hearing or insurance claims.

I bet real money a lawyer can get that data !!.There is a full page in our 2008 Chrysler manual stating the data is the property of Chrysler for product research data. However lawyers can work magic for the right price $$

You would be amazed at what the PCM can store along with various other modules such as ABS, Air bag, Navigation etc.......

I said there is not a Live recording data box like The poster was asking for. The pcm does not store date like that its only a screen shot when a check engine lite event happens. as for the abs same thing the air bag yes does have a snap shot of the perimeters to what caused the air bag to deploy like what inpact sensor was hit when it was hit and what it did like deploy side air bag or what ever, Depending on the state and if there is a 4th amendment law that will not allow that date to be recovered then its not admissible. Police can get the data depending if there is a homicide involved what that car. its like DNA in a crime. But either way this inform is not accessible to any lamin only by court order police or by an investigator.
