Default Cambelt

I have a 2.8 Grand Voyager and the cambelt needs to be changed. Does the cambelt drive the water pump on a 2.8? Do I need to change that as well? How much does it cost? I live in South London.

Thanks

What year is it? The interval depends on the year.

The cambelt does drive the water pump, but Chrysler don't mention that it should be changed with the cambelt. And unless the car has very high mileage, and you do a high annual mileage, I personally wouldn't change the pump with the belt as its a pig of a job due to access problems. Additionally the water pump costs about £170

The cambelt kit (new belt and 2 idler pulleys [which much be replaced at every belt change]) costs about £150. If its the second cambelt change, the tensioner should also be replaced.....another £80.

If you are getting it done at a garage, it's about 3hrs labour. So should come in about £300 for the basic belt/pulley change.....£400 if the tensioner is done too........alot more if you do the pump....probably another 2 hrs labour plus the part.
