Default CEL P0480 not the relay

CEL came on, got P0480 code (from autozone as well as the "key dance")
Engine temp never varied according to gauge despite long periods of idling but it is winter here.
Did NOT immediately buy a new low speed fan relay as I've learned to confirm faulty parts before buying new bits and I've messed with this unit before, it was then (years ago) and again this time, a corroded and broken wire.
Found broken wire but confirmed fan operation first (stuck a bent paper clip into the two big terminal slots on the relay connector that I pulled off the relay (as pictured) fans fired up.
Then I fixed the wire (soldered a jumper to the remaining stub on connector and harness wire).
CEL was still on but I didn't really want to disconnect the battery to clear the code.
Turned on A/C and fan did NOT come on, hmmm expected it to.
Next morning CEL did NOT come on (why would it "reset" overnight?)
I "assume" I fixed it but shouldn't the fan kick in with A/C on regardless of engine temp?
So, moral of the story; check the wiring carefully there are many folks throwing new relays at bad wiring, don't do that.
Not 100% sure I fixed it as have not confirmed fan operation yet but CEL is gone and engine temps (still) normal.

Good find, that's cheap money to fix the whole shabang.

Yes, I thought it was a great idea. Dorman has, over the last several years, come up with some really good ideas. Their quality seems quite good also.
I just completed the job on my 2007 Town and Country. I didn't have to use the pigtail but it was nice to have it in case when I got into the project I'd need it. This is a really helpful youtube video about the P0480 code and relay replacement.

Good stuff, BTW my fans are working fine now. I should look into the airbag sensors.
