Chrysler Grand Voyager 2005 v6 3.3 wont go past 2500 RPM problem
Hello,
I have a Grand Voyager 2005 v6 3.3 petrol & i have a problem with it
It was an old problem that went away but has recently returned
The car drives fine, starts fine & changes gears fine (automattic) but when it hits 2500 rpm it wont rev anymore & wont drive it actually jerks back & forth but as soon as i go below 2500 rpm it drives fine, I have changed oil, spark plugs, oil filter, injectors were removed & cleaned & new cam & crank sensor but the problem is still there.
PLEASE HELP

thank you i will book the car in with a local mechanic as here in Australia the Chrysler Dearler mechanics are useless, twice they tried to repair it & both times the problem was still there & now they are telling me i need to replace the wiring harness.

In addition, max 2500 RPM can be an issue with cam and crank sensors not being in sync for some reason. A bad cam sensor, crank sensor, timing chain stretched (highly unlikely) or a broken and shifted flexplate. If they can read the PCM data, tell them to look at CAM/CRANK Difference. Also tell us the codes that they pulled...if any. Guessing P0016 and/or P0344/P0340
Don't give them too much grief. I doubt there are very many training centers and/or opportunities to see issues with "foreign" cars. But, under NO circumstances let them replace your wiring harness. That is a shot in the dark that almost always ends badly.

Well, at least you know what it is now. When you get it out you will see the tone ring that the crank sensor reads. If it shifts just a little, it throws off the sync with the camshaft sensor. What happened was that the center separated enough to allow the flexplate to shift a few degrees. Sometimes it takes quite a while for it to completely separate though.

replaced broken flex plate but the problem still there now it wont even start well it will start after about 30 seconds sometimes longer as it keeps cranking over & when i finally get it started it still will only rev to 2500 RPM
