chrysler voyager oil pressure warning light
hi, i bought a grand voyager in Dec 08 from a local dealer. Over the last couple of weeks i have had the same problem three times. it has happened on cold mornings. My car starts fine but after about five hundred yards the oil pressure light comes on. the car automatically geos into safety mode then so i oull over and turn off the engine. the engine will not then restart immediately but will restart anywhere from twenty minutes to two hours afterwards. the car then drives fine for the rest of the day. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

RE: chrysler voyager oil pressure warning light
A possibility might be that you don't have the correct oil in the engine. After a cold start, the oil gets pumped up through the engine, but if it's really thick from the cold, it won't flow down to the sump immediately. After the car is warmed up a little, it can flow back down. When it's well warmed up, it flows just fine. You might try changing to 5W-40 oil to see if that works better. In the summer it shouldn't be necessary.
Make sure the car is well warmed up when the oil is changed so the old stuff runs completely out.
