Code Reader

Code Reader
I've read many a thread about melting earth wires and dash thumping as well as flashing or non flashing LEDs, but for those of us whose grand voyager seems to be behaving itself, can anybody recommend a decent, reasonably priced code reader, suitable for a 98 grand voyager, just in case it decides to throw its toys out of the pram at some point

This does not work on the diesels however. For these you must hold in both the trip and reset lights and then turn the car to the first position and hold for 5 - 10 secs. The car will now show the trip rather than the ODO reading. Press trip again and you will get the code. If it shows 55 then all is well. As this does not show P codes you will need to use this table

Generic OBD scanners will NOT work with the diesels as they were only required to be OBD compliant after 2004.

Hi, just tried the ignition thing and about 2 codes came up and then it looked like the word 'done' came up. I have had a recent problem with the gear box getting too hot when towing, causing the engine light to come on and the box not changing up.
Does this sound like the gearbox may have reset itself.
