Cooling fan not working.
2014 Town and Country. 3.6l VVT.
mini fan relay inside fuse box works
fuses good
replaced fuse near radiator.
still no coolant fan. Runs fine if you’re moving. Holds steady between 190-199°.
Idling in traffic or in drive thru it begins to slowly climb until moving again. Got to 220°.
If the coolant fan resistor is bad, can it cause this issue?
Thank you for whatever help you can offer.

you can do one of two things now Jump the fan using some wires power and ground or uses a scanner that can turn on the fan via the computer the latter will remove 4 or 5 items at once if they come on.
then they are working are you experiencing the engine over heating physically? or do you just think they should come on a 220?
Per service manual the fan does not com on to cool the engine down until 220 low speed and high speed at 230

Apparently I’ve gotten bad info. Now that I’ve joined this group and the Chrysler Van group, I’m getting better info.
I don’t know if they’re not working now. A few months ago my thermostat stuck open. The van wouldn’t get warmer than 185° ever. No heat and ran badly. I replaced the thermostat but mistakenly got air into the system and it kept overheating (230°+)
I bled the air out. After that, at idle and driving, it would run 188°-206°. At 206° it would drop back to 188-190° then climb to 206° then drop to 188°. On assume this was the new/working thermostat. The van has always run 190-210° in the cooler months and up to 215°ish in the summer.
about a week ago. I noticed in drive through it was 219° and climbing. However I drove home and it cooled itself off. When I got home I think it was about 210°. That’s when I realized the fan wasn’t on. I researched the internet and read multiple places that cooling fans engage at 200-205°. Also I was told that running the A/C kicks the cooling fan on every time. I’m my case the fan doesn’t run with the A/C nor does it come on at all at 200 or 205°
However. Since joining these groups. I’ve learned in cooler weather that they don’t come on with the A/C necessarily, AND that the fan is 220° and 230°…..
so… I have to go home and start over
thank you so much. I’ll be back after some more investigating
The fans come on with the ac on when the ac pressure is about a certain point. Yes depending where you live they will come on at different times'. Here is the sought they come on quick due to the temp and humidity
