Red face crd injector

hi my 2001 crd started to emit black smoke from exhaust when under load. and really terrible to start when cold, did a leak off check and found no.2 injector faulty. manage to savage a secondhand injector after fitting the engine now feel like its misfiring, someone surgested it may neeed coding in to ecu, could this been true?

it doesn't need coding, over time the ecu will learn the replacement injector variations. But those minor variations shouldn't cause a misfire. 2nd hand injectors are always a bit of a gamble, but given the price of a new or refurbished one it's still worth taking.
