Default Cruise control going crazy!

We just drove our 00 town and country limited 5 hours from Houston to dfw and during the trip I set the cruise control between 75 and 80. When I tapped the brake to disengage the cruise control it wouldn't. I ended up having to put the van in neutral to disengage the cruise. Another time, I hit the resume button and it passed the speed I had previously set it at and kept accelerating. I need to find a troubleshoot for this as we are driving 17 hours at the end of the month. Thanks for the help.

Remove neg battery terminal for 30 mins and while its off clean the connecting parts. Screw it down, back forwards on refit.
Have you got a good battery and is Alternator charging ok...
We'll get you learned on here.

You got an ABS light up on dash by any chance. Or flickering.
If not this is getting tricky.
Try key dance for faults but relating, likely not to be shown.
Is this a Clock Spring issue here guys as switches are on Steering Wheel...
Await Tech Electro-Sparks...

So last night the cruise control wouldn't even turn on and this morning it turned on and is still exhibiting the same symptoms. At a loss...I'm pretty mechanically inclined but I don't even know what to test or replace?

Looks like your looking for a bad connection. Go back the threads in relation to Cruise control and Clock Spring.
