Default Cuise Control/Airbag

98 T&C cruise contol failed. No cruise control light on dash when I select cruise. Strange that Airbag light came on the same time I noticed no cruise control. I do not see any fuse or rely marked for cruise control. Any suggestions on what to check would be appreciated. Service Engine Soon light just cost $350 for an EGR valve. Not in the mood for another big repair bill. Thanks!!

YAHOOOO...I can't wait to call the dealer tomorrow with my vin number. I sure hope you're not pulling my leg. Clock spring sounds a lot like fluxcapacitor. I'm in Decatur, Alabama just west of Huntsville and loving it.

Nope, he's not pulling your leg. The clock spring is a VERY common failure on this generation of minivans. Is the recall applicable 2nd, 3rd, etc. owners as well, or just the original owner?

FYI: The clockspring is what allows you to turn the steering wheel w/o pulling all the wires out of thecruise control switches. It's a bunch of wires wound much the same way a clock spring is wound, hence the name. I think in the old days, they used copper slip rings for this function.
