Default Down shift problems

We bought a Town and Country Touring in 2008 with about 13k miles on it. Over the past year our van has been experiencing a strong jolt when it shifts into a lower gear. It's specifically happens when the car is cold and is going down hill. We've taken it in to the dealership for the problems, but they say they can't find a problem. The jolt is so strong that if your not expecting it you get startled. I was curious if anyone else has had this happen to their vans? If so what was the solution? Thanks Christy

Angry 2008 Chrysler Town and Country Touring

Does anyone know if the braking systems on the 2008 Chrysler Town and Country Touring minivan are faulty? We are going on the 3rd set of pads and rotars for this vehicle and I'm getting a bit frustrated. This doesn't seem cost effective at all since we don't drive like Nascar drivers do, and we don't do any kind of hill climbing or descending. The dealership has no recalls or hasn't heard of any problems....Thanks Christy

Faulty? 2008 and 2009 front brakes have been a hot topic on several forums months. Chrysler issued TSB 05-006-08 way back in Dec, 2008 to replace the front rotors and pads. That was superseded by TSB 05-003-10 dated ??? 2010. As I recall I think they've even extended the warranty on them and you can get reimbursed for previous repairs. Contact a competent dealer for details. Your dealership is either clueless or worse.

Poked around a little more and found this: http://www.autosafety.org/sites/defa...xtension_0.pdf

And this appears to be TSB 05-003-10
