Default drivers electric window

hi i have a uk chrysler voyager. the drivers electirc window doesn't work. i have put a multimeter on the plug to the motor and get 12 volts when i push switch to close window but nothing to open it. brought a brand new switch and it hasn't made a difference. i was just wondering if anyone knows what the problem can be.

Virtually all electric window porblems on Voyagers are faulty motors (worn brushes to be precise).

Have you tried tapping the motor with a screwdriver while operating the swtch?

Talking UK voyager electic window

Hi. quite right, almost always it`s the motor brushes. Chrysler won`t sell you just the brushes but if you go to a model shop you can get hold of them there. I think they are 504 brushes and they are used on model cars ( i`d suggest taking the old brushes with you ). Shoud only be about £5 or so. Or you could scavenge some from a windscreen wiper motor. That`s what I did.

Ok Guys...Good point and well taken.....But..

Motor brushes do not explain why he has No Voltage at the motor connector in the DOWN position......

Smiler.....You are checking "ACROSS" the connector arent you?? Just a tip.....Toss the multimeter in the lake for this one......

A plain old 12V test lamp is your tool of choice. A small screwdriver in one side of the connector to hold the clip of the light, and probe the other terminal......The Light SHOULD illuminate with the switch in Both Directions......

Do all the other windows work...fromThe master switch AND the individual switches????

Open the door, press the switch to lower the window, slam the door shut. When that stops working change the motor brushes.

From memory you remove the screw in the door handle. The rest of the door panel is just held on with popper type plastic fixings. Get a long flat screw driver or similar and starting at the bottom of the door panel, lever the panel off. It does take a bit of force to get it released
