Hi,

I've just replaced the front pads on my 2000 Grand voyager and now the calipers are rubbing on the front wheels????

The brakes are still a bit spongy as to be expected from new pads until they bed in, if you touch the pedal just a bit the rubbing stops. Looks like the pads aren't quite sitting flat on discs but don't know what to do to sort it out!

Any suggestions, ideas?????

I do not have a GV but I am really struggling to understand how the calipers can be rubbing on the wheels???? New pads or old ones the caliper position does not change, only the distance that the cylinder is extended. Sounds more like the calipers were not installed correctly to me. Again, I do not have a GV but each of the mopars that I have worked on have two bolts holding the caliper in place. I would defintely check that BOTH are correctly threaded and the the caliper is not actually pivoting on one of them.

 

Stock rims? Can you see the wear marks on the rim and caliper?
