fuel filter housing

Default fuel filter housing

hi guys i got a replacement fuel filter housing today , the reason is my fuel is running back over night , i changed the spill pipes , i got a none return valve i thought i may aswell change the housing while i am under there , its always good to learn about what parts do and what they are for , i noticed a small round part on top of the housing with a wire conector to it , anyone know what this is and what it does is it a small fuel pump

its ok guys i got it , its the lift pump , fuel filter/water seperator, and fuel heater

Check the plastic for cracks, its famous for leak-back issues.

cheers budy , do you know where the lift pump fuse is it should have a fuse and relay but i cant find it anywhere , so i can check to see if there is power there

I'm not clear on this one but think pump only runs when key turned in ignition then goes off when engine starts. Trick is to put ear to fuel filler pipe and listen with key in.

yes you are correct budy , i found that online it only runs at start up , thwere should be a fuese and relay for it
