Default Full Field Alternator output 18V

2006 Town and County - lost of work done on it. It has a new Alternator, PCM and Battery. The alternator is putting out 18V. If I disconnect regulator and run off battery the vertical runs fine - until the battery drains.
My Service manual shows a BR/GRY wire for GEN FLD from PCM and BLK/L|BLK to the alternator - however the vehicle alternator has a Green/GY wire and a BL/YW wire for the regulator - I think - I'm color blind and I am having a terrible time with the wire colors.
When running the GN/GY is grounded - and the BL/YW is B+ and the alternator is putting out 18V.
I believe I have a short in the GN/GY wire to the PCM but I have not found one yet. One manual has the PCM GND FLD as C2 19 and the other has it as C1 Pin 8. Neither are the same color wires.

Anyone have the PCM pinout for the GND FLD on the 2006 T&C?

Default Devil in this Alternator.

18v think you better not run your system on that voltage for long. Think your liable to get even higher voltage spikes. 15v should be about your maximum but your car should run better on 14v. I bet Captain is about ready to pounce on this thread and give you a high noon talk.

Default Oops figured it out.

Well I figured it out. After a lot of pain. I can't believe it but I had switch the connector from the compressor with the alternator. I'm very surprised that they fit so easy into the wrong spot. The total job was a timing chain cover change out. Just go to show its the littlest things that can drive you the craziest when you make a stupid mistake. Cheers.
