Default Getting control of my headlights!

When I use the RKE to unlock my van, the headlights come on. I need to find a way to keep the headlights from coming on like this. There are some circumstances where the lights shine right into someone's bedroom and I'd like to leave them off till I back out. When I asked the service advisor at the dealership he said he didn't know how to adjust the programming for this and suggested this forum. So, here I am. Help!

2008. you'd think I would have sense enough to include that up front.

if it does not say anything in the owners manual then a dealer with a starscan will haft to go into the controler and do it that way.

Can you tell me what to say to the service advisor? The dealer is a 5 star dealer, so they probably have starscan. He seemed to think he didn't know how to do it.

You have the option to set the headlights on delay (either when you lock the vehicle remotely or unlock it with the FOB). The option is in the on-board computer (the one underneath the speedo).

I believe there is also the option to turn the horn on or off when you lock or unlock as well as a myriad of other options (headlamps on with wipers on, easy seat entry, headlights on delay after locking the vehicle, etc.).

You can access the computer via the steering wheel mounted buttons (it looks like a little square note by the horn).

Gumby,

that level of control is only available if you bought a certain package, which I don't have. I've managed to turn off the horn/with/RKE, but avoiding the headlights-on/with/RKE is apparently not doable. I'm gonna press the service advisor to give it to a tech and see if they can do it.
