I have a 1991 Ply Voy with 3.3 l engine. I can start it up but after about 20 minutes it dies on me. I havehad a new timing chain and gears put on it recently along with a new cam sensor. I also had new fuel pump put in it. I noticed that the hose going from thepressure release value was broken when I replaced the fuel pump. I get no error codes from thecheck engine lite. It just gives me code 12 and 55. Please help with this, its the only vechile I have. Also after letting car sit for 24 hours it will start up and run again. Thanks in advance.

It seems, the engine gets no gas after a while. On the next day the low-pressure in the gas-tank is balanced again:
1. The pressure-valve of the filling-cap may be out of order. Try to run the engine with opened cap for more than 20min. If so, buy a new cap.
2. Change the gas-filter below the front-passenger side. It may be filled with waste.

Hi, I am unable to check the fuel cap pressure because now the vechile won't start at at. I am getting fuel up to the injetters but don't seem to be getting any into the cyl. I am lost at what to do now. I'm not that much of an electrical guy. Don't have the tools I need to check for a short, other than a volt meter. I did check for fire on number 2 cyl, but didn't see any. Please help me out because I can't afford to send it to the shop, I live on a limited income. Thanks in Advance.

 

Hi, I am unable to check the fuel problemnow because vechile won't start now. I am getting fule to the injectors. At least theres fuel there when I release pressure. Could the injetors be causing the problem and keeping the engine from firing? I saw no spark in the number two cylinder.

 

you could take a can of carb cleanerand spray it in the t/b and see if it starts,if it runs on the spray then its fuel related,or try banging on the tank while you have somebody crank it over.if it starts again it fuel related.please be careful on the spaying of carb cleaner.moe

 

I tried the Cab cleaner and vechile wouldn't start. Also tried beating on gas tank and still no start.

Today I was able to start the vechile, wiyh gas cap off, the vechile still ran about 25 minutes the just stopped.Could I be loosing power to the injetors, or where else do I look. Thanks in advance.
