Default grand voyager 53 plate 2.5 crd - stalling

I brought this car and the previous owner failed to tell me it has a known fault - when driving it cautiously no problem, the minute you excelerate hard (overtaking) or up hill the cars oil jug comes up, then the power steering goes and then engine stalls, no engine management light show - no fault codes showing on diagnostic either, when excellerating there is noticeable black cuffs of smoke coming from exhaust.

I have today spoen to the previous owner of the car - who states he was told by the garage it was the "high pressure valve that feeds fuel to the fuel pump" I have today tried to obtain this "PART" and have been unable to do so - could someone tell me or add a link to somewhere that sells this "PART" or can confirm what the "OFFICAL" part is called from my attempt above.

many thanks in advance

It's a Bosch CR injection system, look for a Bosch certified diesel specialist to supply the part, no idea what the part number is though.

Inside The Bosch CP3 Injection Pump - Diesel Power Magazine shows a good view of the pump and I'd guess they were talking about the fuel control valve.

I would look for air leaks in the fuel system before replacing any parts. Splice a section of clear pipe into the feed from the filter to the injection pump and look for any air bubbles.

I'm surprised that no codes are showing. I would have expected a low fuel pressure reading at least, what are you using to read the codes?

Regards

Richard

Hi! I hade a same problem with my 02 reg CRD and it turned out it was the injectors had to be renewed and since then it runs sweet as a baby! It did cost to refurbishing a furtune (Ł:600) But I can recomend KENT DIESEL in Maidstone for You! They did it for me and now has a warranty of 1 year! Also they can check before they do anything and test it and refurb it! Its worth to do a leakback check! Good luck
