Hi
Can't say it will fix it without looking at it as you may have two faults. But I do know the outside temp can stop the air con from working so does need to be fixed. I have done the air con course at Chrysler UK.

Hi thanks for replying would I be correct in thinking that the two faults that it could be are temp sensor or temp sensor wiring, and would it be possible to bring the car to you i'm in the west midlands. Thanks

bit far away for me I am in the southwest. How long have you had this fault? any work done around the time? More likely a wiring fault or even the sensor unplugged. a faultly sensor would normally just be inaccurate. If you electrician doesn't want to look at it I guess it would have to be the dealer.

Hi I have ordered a temp sensor from the dealers which should arrive on Thursday morning hopefully that should solve the problem.

Hi
Ok keep us up to if it does. Just to put your mind at rest I disconnect a 04 one today, out side temp went to -40 and the air con stopped working. you are on the right track.
Best of luck

Hi I changed the temp sensor today no change, does the temp sensor display the right temperature straight away. It looks like it could be a wiring problem.

Hi
Yes should work straight away. I did suspect wiring, Are you going back to your auto electrician or dealer? Do you need wiring info?

The temp sensor is wired to the IPM (base of fuse box) Block C1 pins 9 and 18.
Best of luck

Hi thanks for the info is it straightforward to check the wiring or is there a lot of components in the way, and am I right in assuming it's a straightforward job for an electrician. thanks.
