Grand voyager overheating
Help my grand voyager2.8crd is overheating but the radiator is cold the pipes are solid to touch no give when squeezed ,I've been told by garage that it's cylinder head gasket but there's no oil in water and no water in oil and engine starts and runs as smoothly as it always has.
its 2006 and has 110.000 on clock
Has anyone had this before or can anyone advise me

Air in system causing as you say solid pipes due to air pressurisation. See that hose that runs from top back of engine, round near side, then to radiator, well that's the highest point in coolant system and there is no vent on it. So find a connection on it, I used where it connects at rear of engine. Slacken clip, push a thin screwdriver under hose and when coolant leaks out retighten clip. Keep reservoir filled for this exercise...

Mine did this when I first got it. Turned out the radiator was plugged up with corrosion due to the antifreeze/anticorrosive had not been changed since new. Result a new rad at £140 plus fitting. And a jammed open thermostat.
Reason? These rads are aluminium and will corrode if antifreeze not changed, and what's more these rads can't be flushed when plugged up. Must use HOAT antifreeze.
Leedsman.

If you replace the radiator, get the OEM one.
I had a Dodge Intrepid and bought a couple good brand name aftermarket ones that failed within a couple of months.
Bought an OEM one and it has lasted for years.
I think that TYC makes the OEM ones now.
