help grand voyager dvd screen not working

help grand voyager dvd screen not working
Hi
Just bought a grand voyager 3.3 petrol xs 56 plate and have got it home and dvd will not play on the screen -we have no headphones, is that why it does not work.....? We did not check it before we bought it so busy checking all the rest had no idea that it might not work.... headphones are def not in car
We bought from a Honda dealership so should be able to have some come back hopefully. Kids so disappointed tonight ( this was a huge deal for them!!!
We can get it to play with sound but no picture on screen (which is ceiling mounted not headrest) We have the dvd remote and put new batteries in and it works with the player but no picture on screen.
