Default key Remote for my CHRYSLER's alarm

Hi there would any of you guys know how i go about getting a new key fob for my 2001 chrysler voyager, that would activate the alarm immobiliser and dorrs?

Is it going to have to be a main dealer thing? Cos they're charging me an arm and a leg, i'm wondering whether i should just choose an independant alarm instead?

What do you recommend guys?

I've been told i can purchase a second hand remote control for the vehicle and get it programmed for my vehicle, how true is this?

Just resurrecting this thread, as I have mislaid one set of keys with alarm fob. Is it possible to buy a secondhand fob and have it reprogrammed, and if so, is it a dealer only job, or is it something I can do myself. Mine is a 2001 2.5 CRD, and the keys are the grey colour with the chip built into the key, though it's only the alarm fob I actually need.

Yes the fob will work from another car as long as it's the right part number.

but you will need the dealer to code it in.

Thanks - I suspected that was the case.
