Default Location of glow plug relay

I want to know the location of the glow plug relay on a Voyager 2.5 Turbo diesel 2001.

What does it look like?

Thanks

Default RE: Location of glow plug relay

Hi Merlin,

Thanks for the info. There are 4 relays - 3 black and 1 grey. The grey 1 had burnt out connections. I replaced the relay and the glow plugs worked but the live feed to the relay does not go off and the glow plugs stay on continuously. However, the glow plug light on the dash does go off after a few seconds but stays on a bit longer in the mornings.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi. Know this is an old thread, but I cannot locate the glow plug relay on a fifth generation (2008) Grand Voyager/Town & Country 2.8 crd. Can anyone help? (On the fourth generation it was on the front plate as raj and Merlin discuss above, but no longer.)

Spoiler

Hi. Yes, I found the location of the glow plug relay on my 2008 GV 2.8 CRD. It is on the car's left hand side (right hand side when you are facing the engine) just below the front end of fuse box towards the inside of the left front fender. It is though to spot, but if you look below the front end of the battery, there is a very thick, flexible hose (thickness of 2-3 fingers) with many wires in it. The wires to the glow plug relay splits off from that in a black flexible pipe about the thickness of one finger. It runs about 25 cm up and outwards into the relay. I am attaching a picture showing the relay in the middle, below the fuse box (after I loosened it from the fender). Good luck finding and replacing it!

Ken

Wow, thanks Ken that’s absolutely awesome information. I couldn’t actually see it but I have felt it now. A little mission for me over the weekend I think.
many thanks
Steve.

I have now replaced all four glow plugs and the glow plug relay, but it still will not start in cold weather. It seems that sometimes the glow plug relay does not get any power. Does anyone have advice on what to check next?
