Default Looking for ideas on a full length cargo mat for 2009 T&C

Hi everyone. Recently I was forced by the new family to get a minivan. I used to use my 2003 Dodge Ram 4 door 4x4 for work. I had a toneau cover on it and filled the entire 6 1/2' bed full of my work equipment. My equipment is modular, so it stacks and when I say I filled the bed, I filled. So here is my dilema; I had to get rid of it because I had 275k miles on it and it no longer could continue as a work vehicle. The sad thing is I now need to use my 2009 T&C to haul all of my work until I can get another truck. To preserve the carpet in the cabin, I need ideas as to what will work. I need something that will not bunch when I slide all my work stuff into the back, but at the same time I need it now to slide as much as a traditional bed liner in a pick up.

So far, the closest thing I can find is from Mopar that is described as "Soft vinyl" that goes from the back of the front row to the tailgate.

I need something that long, however the "Soft vinyl" description scares me. I've checked WeatherTec and a few others, but I am unable to find exactly what I need. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks guys!

TCforJC:

Parts and accessories for your vehicle can be ordered on-line at the Mopar eStore. The Mopar eStore can be found on-line at Mopar Parts - The Official Mopar Parts eStore offered by Chrysler

I'm not sure if what you described in your thread is the same product, but the Mopar eStore does have a product that is called:

Cargo Area Liner

The Cargo Area Liner is custom-designed to fit the cargo area. Offers great protection from dirty cargo. Designed to fit the floor of Minivans equipped with Stow `N Go seating. Covers the entire floor when second and third row seats are stowed. Can be folded or rolled when not in use.

Part #82210752
List Price: $145.00

If you wish to speak with a Mopar Parts Representative for more information, you can call the eStore Hotline at 1-888-349-2298.

You may also order parts and accessories through your local dealer.

I hope this may help.

Tony, yes, thats the one I'm referring to. I've checked it out and I'm not sure if it will work. I appreciate all the time you have spent on my two threads to help. If any other ideas outside of Chrysler products pop up, let me know.

I've got that vinyl cargo area liner on my 2011 T&C. It's actually the same one I had in my 2010 T&C. I just moved it from the old van to the new one.

I got it because what's usually in the back of mine is a couple of dogs, and it keeps the carpet clean and protects from any 'accident' one of them might have. (Hasn't happened yet...., so I probably shouldn't say anything about it.)

Honestly, I kind of doubt that it'll wear well for what you plan on using it for. Any sharp edge is probably going to rip it rather easily.

For what you want to do, I'd try to get a piece of outdoor carpet. The kind you can put on your deck or patio. It should be relatively easy to trim it to fit. I'd also use some rags or old towels to stuff into the openings in the floor for the brackets that hold the seats. They could cause a spot where you might snag something on the carpet if you slide it over one of those brackets. Finding some in a color that you can live with in the van might be a problem though.

Perhaps you could find some heavy-duty rubber stair-runner or something else that's thick and tough and cut a cover in sections that would cover the back and protect the carpet. There are companies like WeatherTek that make cargo liners, but although they look good in the ads, I don't have any experience with them and they aren't exactly cheap if you want to cover the whole back of the van.

Thanks Comrade. I like the carpet idea. I'll start searching around at HomeDepot or Lowes. I was also thinking about maybe a used bed liner of a truck and cutting it to fit, but I don't want to come across as trashy ya know?

I also need a way to keep things from shifting around. I notice that by the rear lift gate that there are two eye hooks. This would work great for tying things off. I just wish that there was more.

Other than this little dilema and my brake issue, this 09 with 36k miles on it feels brand new. I'm really shocked at how well everything operates in it after those amount of miles.
