so what did you do? change the alternator?
my its having low voltage anyways, I dod have to change.

Yes, Replaced the alt.

I did find of my van, was the alternator, when engine goes off the alternator still spining until stops (like 2 seconds). I went to Sears for free estimate SO I went to friend of mine and change for better price the alternator.
No more problem now!!!

Where's the clutch in the alternator, do you mean the a/c compressor?

Just changed my Alternator this evening,Of course it was the 130Amp Model because nothing on anything I own ever uses the cheaper option. Dont want to change one of those or anything else on one of these sideways motoers again...Ever!! Dis the Rear Spark Plugs whill the Alt. was off. I have been hearing that grinding noise for a while,Everyone kept telling me I was nuts,New Alternator....No More Grinding Noise,Go Figure
