are you sure it wasn't P1130?

the 2.8 diesel engines don't have 02 sensors, but are prone to throwing 1130 codes.

Yes I got it wrong it was P1130. I've ordered an O2 sensor from RBS handel in Germany 60euros.

Hi Richard.
Any idea what makes them throw the P1130 codes.
I have read on here it mite be the crank position sensor or cam sensor.
Thanks

P1130 is fuel rail pressure.

Most common is air getting into the fuel through the filter housing, occasionally due to to leaking injectors, rarely the fuel pressure safety valve leaking and has been known to be wiring.

Is it cutting out under hard acceleration?

Richard

Hi Richard.
Thanks for the reply. It's had a new fuel filter housing.
it's not cutting out under hard acceleration. just lumpy idling.
Thanks
Adrian

lumpy idling would tend to point to injectors, but you will need testing first. Swapping parts out randomly is not the most efficient way of fixing things.

I'd start by a leakback test on the injectors and replace any with excessive leak back. Next look at the fuel rail pressure on an oscilloscope to check for value and stability.

regards
Richard

There's an on [on the car] test and an off [off the car] test, many garages will have
one of these one of these
, this is the on test.
