just took delivery of new maf sensor is it a case of just replace or do i need to clear the code before it will work,if so how do you clear them?

It will work anyway.
Perhaps the code will be cleared itself, otherwise you have to clear it with a OBD scan tool.

still smoking looks like my time owning a voyager is about to come to an end unless it just needs a good clear out down the highway

Should be a stuck EGR valve. Try to disconnect its vacuum line (right side of the intake mainfold).
When it smokes? At idle or during normal drive?

Hi yet again,
I stuck or knackered EGR valve in other cars either shuts it down of puts it in limp home mode...
Smoking engines can be caused by Crankcase pressure build up due to blocked vent valve.
Is this a problem with this engine, on irregular oil changes..

egr valve been blanked off all breathers been cleared getting obd reader in the week

At this point a bad injector could be your culprit...
