Is this part covered on Warranty?
Hey Guys,
I just joined the forum for my father, who purchased a 2011 Chrysler T&C Mini Van two years ago brand new covered under warranty and extended warranty. I do not see any threads made about my situation so I thought I create one myself. My father took the van to the dealer for the 30,000 mileage inspection and received a lot of services such as mostly fluid changes (Oil, brake, steering, etc.), engine light and something about the "Power Steering Kit" that he had to purchase costing $153.00.
My dad's van is 29,000 and under 3 years so the warranty is still under affect however, this part called the Power Steering Kit part number 020 332 is what concerns me because I thought that it is covered under warranty? Unless its a power steering fluid purchase I can understand but what about this part and shouldn't it be covered under warranty?
Here are some pictures. Look under the first row containing "Power Steering Kit R" that cost $153.00.

A PS flush on a 2011 at 29K miles??? I can't imagine that being required maintenance per the maintenance schedule. Another one to add to the list of dealership cash cows? To my mind your dad was ripped off by a slick dealership. I changed the PS fluid in 10 minutes at a cost of $10 for fluid at 80K miles on my 96GC. Now at 212K miles and 18 years on all is still just peachy. Any kind of flush is nothing but a money maker for a dealership. In some cases they do much more harm than good.
