Default Power Slide Drivers Side does not automatically Lock?

HI

i have a 2001 T&C and the drivers side automatic door does not automatically lock when pressing the key fob to lock. All the other doors lock no problem.

can i fix this myself?

i am new to fixing my own problems, but i did manage to replace my window regulator and motor because i had a window problem, which when it worked i was amazed.

If you did the regulator yourself, this will be a slam dunk for you. Does it lock with the buttons on the door switches?

yes, the button will go down if you mannually push it and lock all ok, but just not when you press the lock button on the key fob or the internal door lock button for all doors.

sorry forgot to say it locks on the other lock on the door too, not just the button near the window.

The door lock actuator is behind the door panel attached to the door frame about 1/2 way back. Not super easy but better than they used to be in the latch assembly. You may need a 2nd person to hold stuff when you go back together with it. You should have fun

Where to get the lock mechanism? It seems that these doors fail with the latch mechanism or the lock. Is the lock a solenoid? Just get the part from the dealer and shotgun it, or is it cheaper on line somewhere? On the passanger side, the dealer replaced the latch - always opens now. This is the side that the lock does not work on (doesn't lock or unlock automatically with the fob or the inside button). The driver side door lock works, but it occasionally does not unlatch. So, 2 questions - 1. where to get the passanger side lock, and 2. where to get the driver's side latch assembly, and is it easy to change and worth trying? I guess a third question - the latch on the back door does not release about half the time. Latch?
