Default power windows

Hi Everone

I have a 2001 chrysler grand voyager 2.5ltr CRD LX (UK Model)
The front right window opens but will only close about 2" at a time and then you have to give it 10 mins rest between attempts.
Am I right in thinking that the motor is faulty ?
If so does anyone know if American spares would fit a UK model as the spares in the UK are so expensive!!

Would realy welcome any replies

why don't you try the cheap and easy way first?

remove the panel from the door, get to the motor and see what's going on.
the cable that moves the window usually runs around 3 plastic rings. and they are usualy exposed to water from rain and carwash. and when that goes on for a while, they have big resistence to spining.
grese them so they spin freely, check the motor operation.

the way I see it, if the motor would be the problem, it would not move the window at all.

Is there any "crunching" sound when you roll up the window? If so, you will need a regulator, and possibly the motor.

If there is no crunching sound, just hard to go up, then something has come out of alignment, or, the biggest thing, the rubber is worn, or someone has "lubed" it. I see this so many times, peeps think the window is going to slow, so they lube the rubber run channel with their best means possible, but in time, that "lube" turns to a grip, and sooner or later the grip will destroy the regulator, and then shortly after the motor.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Thanks for your advice .Will pull the door panel off and take a look.
Does the motor have a thermal cutout?
When the window does move it sounds normal
