Default Problem with the alarm system

Hi! Can anybody say whats the problem? I have Voyager 2.5 CRD 2001 (European, left driver side). Alarm system doesn't turn on most times I try to activate it. When I use key to lock up doors after some time car starts to make knocking sound. It comes from under the hood, from behind the headlight (driver side) and more from bottom...somewhere next the wheel. I can turn knocking sound off when turning the igition on: alarm turns on and pressing turn-off button on a remote, it turns off and opens all the doors like the alarm was turned on all along. Knocking starts even some time when doors not locked at all and can be even wide open. I hope I got it right and understandable. Sorry if I didn't. Not very much home explaning car problems in English...

It sounds like you have an after market alarm system fitted to the car, not the OEM unit fitted by Chrysler.

Thanks for reply! Yes, it seems to be so. Digged yesterday further and found out that I've got probably Sheriffs alarm system on my car.

If you Google "Sheriff Car Alarm" you may find a user manual for your system. Good Luck.
